CMS Bath Ltd have submitted a planning application to North Wiltshire Council on behalf of Corsham Primary School for the replacement of the existing temporary classrooms. The new build will provide a new reception to the school allowing for increased security and safety for the children. The main element will be the new library which will housed within the contemporary, double height, glazed fronted building. To reduce the amount of solar gain to the library; brise soleil has been introduced to the front of the windows giving a modern feel to the exterior.
BIID Membership
CMS Bath Ltd are please to announce that Beth Hawkins has been awarded membership to the British Institute of Interior Design. The BIID is a professional organisation for interior designers in the UK who represents both the commercial and residential sectors, from heritage to cutting edge. The British Institute of Interior Design is the only professional organisation for interior designers to be granted the prestigious and rare accolade of Institute status by the Minister of State.
CMS obtain CHAS and SMAS Accreditation
CMS have recently obtained accreditation under the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and the Safety Management Advisory Services Worksafe Consultant scheme (SMAS). These schemes demonstrate the enhanced awareness of health and safety issues within the construction industry held by its members.

CMS puts things right!
CMS came to the rescue of a domestic client who had undertaken a comprehensive restoration of their C17 converted barn without the necessary permissions in place. CMS worked closely with the client and the Local Authority Conservation Officer to successfully obtain the required retrospective planning and listed building consents.
North Tawton Heritage Led Residential Development
Plans have now been resubmitted to West Devon Borough Council for the proposed redevelopment of a former woollen mill complex in North Tawton. Proposals were tweaked to enable the retention of more of the historical fabric along with the addition of some smaller units to address local needs. We have continued to work closely with the Town Council, the planning and conservation officers along with our team of consultants to deliver an exciting scheme which has received great support from all parties.
First Choice
CMS worked with main contractor Fileturn Southwest Ltd in carrying out a total of over 30 refurbishments for travel chain First Choice in the updating of their house style. The interiors were re-planned incorporating secure foreign exchange booths. Each refurbishment was carried out over a period of around 10 days.
Busaba Restaurants London
CMS worked with main contractor Fileturn Ltd to complete the detail design for the alterations and fit out of a new Busaba restaurant located just off Leicester Square, London. The detailing and use of high quality finishes throughout including hardwood, slate, Corian and bronze create a stylish interior in the clients' Thai theme.
Since completeing the Leicester square restaurant CMS and Fileturn Ltd have completed two further restaurants for the Busaba chain at sites in Hoxton and the Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush all using high quality materials for the Thai themed interiors.
North Tawton
We have spent the last 18 months developing proposals for the former Wool Grading Centre in North Tawton with the assistance of West Devon Borough Council Development Control, Cllr Morgan, the Environment Agency and a host of specialist consultants cumulating in the submission of an application for full planning permission.
The proposal which consists of a new site access, significant flood defence works to protect the site and wider community, restoration of the Mill and other historically important buildings together with the mill leat will provide a total of 59no. residential properties ranging from 2 bed roomed to 4 bed roomed properties.
Possibly the most attractive of the retained historic buildings is to be restored and put to use as a community asset. This is envisaged to operate as a day nursery, gallery or similar.

Worcestershire Farm Shop
We have recently received planning approval for the change of use of an agricultural barn for the use of a local produce farm shop near Evesham, Worcestershire. Within sensitive planning policy guidelines, the scheme required close liaison with the local planning authority.
The interior of the agricultural barn will be substantially improved and designed for the sale of locally sourced fresh produce from the Vale of Evesham.
